Bandung, August 8 – 10, 2025 — They city of Bandung once again hosted the prestigious Bandung Open Pencak Silat Tournament 2025. The three-day competition brought together hundreds of pencak silat fighter from various regions across Indonesia, with several participants even coming from abroad.
This tournament served as a stage for the athletes to showcase their best skills and strategies, featuring competition across multiple age groups and weight classes. Beyond being a contest for championship titles, the event also aimed to strengthen bonds among silat practitioners while preserving Indonesia’s traditional martial arts heritage.
Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (UNSURYA) proudly made its mark in this year’s tournament, bringing home three medals:
1. Reynaldi Zaki Fikri Joansah — Informatics Management student (NIM 241041012), won a gold medal in the Men’s Class D Match (60-65 kg)
2. Fauzi Salimuddin — Information Systems student (NIM 241051008), won a gold medal in the Men’s Class C (55-60 kg)
3. Reynaldi Zaki Fikri Joansah — once again demonstrated his excellence by securing another gold medal in the Men’s Single Artistic Category (IPSI)
The tournament committee chairperson stated that this year’s Bandung Open recorded the highest number of participants since its inception. The enthusiastic crowd filled the venue from the very first day, providing spirited support to the competing athletes.
In addition to the intense matches, spectators were treated to pencak silat art performances, showcasing graceful and meaningful movements. This added cultural richness to the event and further reinforced the cultural value of the tournament.
With the success of this year’s edition, the Bandung Open Pencak Silat Tournament is expected to continue growing as a regular event, serving as a platform for the emergence of talented silat athletes capable of competing on both national and international stages.
