On 21-22 May 2024, the Himpunan Mahasiswa Informatika (HIMI) successfully held an educational and training activity (Diklat) which aims to equip its members with the knowledge of the world of work and design skills. The training which lasted for two days presented speakers who were experts in their fields, giving insight and practical skills to the participants.
First Day: Briefing the World of Work and Organizations
The first day training began with the exposure of material by Dr. Yohannes Dewanto, S.T., M.T who discussed the world of work and internship cooperation. In this session, Dr. Yohannes gave insight into the challenges and opportunities in the world of work, as well as the importance of internship experience to prepare for the professional world.
After that, the second session was led by Mr. Arif Furqan, who delivered a presentation on organizations. Arif Furqan explained the importance of being involved in organizations as a means to develop soft skills such as leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
Day Two: UI/UX and Graphic Design Skills
On the second day, the training continued with a session by Chandra, who thoroughly explored the topic of UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience). This session provided an in-depth understanding of how to design intuitive interfaces and create optimal user experiences.
The next session was delivered by M. Fariz Fahreza, focusing on graphic design. Fariz conducted a tutorial on how to design execution. The participants were highly enthusiastic about this session, as they were invited to directly practice the knowledge they had gained.
To close the day, the final session focused on printing the designed keychains. Guided by mentor Farhan Saputra, the participants learned how to turn their designs into physical keychains. This session offered hands-on experience in applying graphic design skills to real products.

The Chairperson of HIMI stated, “This training is expected to provide valuable knowledge for the participants, both in preparing for the workforce and in developing practical design skills”.
The training program organized by HIMI not only provided theoretical knowledge but also valuable practical experience. With comprehensive guidance from experts, participants are expected to be well-prepared to face challenges in the professional world and capable of applying design skills in everyday life.
