From 29-30 May 2023, the Informatics Student Association, commonly known as HIMI, carried out a community service program called “HIMI Teaching.” This activity is one of the programs organized by the Social Division of the student association, aimed at providing young generations, especially early childhood, with knowledge about technology, specifically Microsoft Office. In today’s world, where technology is advancing rapidly and becoming increasingly sophisticated, if we don’t introduce it to them, then who will? We must ensure that our young generation does not remain unfamiliar with technology, since many activities and daily tasks today are intertwined with it, said the Chairperson of the event, Chandra JJ.
The program had been on hold for two years but has been resumed in this current period with a more refined concept. During the preparation of “HIMI Teaching,” the team faced many challenges, from drafting proposals to submitting them and finding suitable targets to teach. These experiences became valuable stories and lessons throughout the process. The event was warmly welcomed with great enthusiasm from the students of SDN 02 Pitara, who showed a strong interest in learning more about technology. The feedback given to the instructors during the three-day program was very positive. This “HIMI Teaching” program also received full support from the Informatics Management Study Program, represented by Mr. Muryan Awaludin, S.Kom., M.Kom.
