Entering its second day, the Data Science Workshop organized by the Faculty of Computer Science and Design at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (UNSURYA) delved deeper into practical implementation. Guided by Dr. Adi Wijaya, M.Kom., this online session was attended by enthusiastic students from the S1 Information Systems and D3 Informatics Management programs. Opened with a warm welcome from the Faculty Dean, Dr. Yohannes Dewanto, and fully supported by the Head of Information Systems and Informatics Management Study Programs, Muryan Awaludin, S.Kom., M.Kom., the workshop reinforced UNSURYA’s commitment to preparing outstanding graduates in data science.
The second day’s agenda was systematically structured around five crucial stages: Data Collection, Data Modeling, Create app + LLM, Deploy app to repo, and Run app. Dr. Adi Wijaya guided participants through an end-to-end workflow, starting from effective data collection techniques to building analytical models. During the Data Modeling session, participants explored various modeling approaches adaptable to their research. This stage served as a vital foundation before transitioning to application development integrated with Large Language Models (LLM), demonstrating how data science theory translates into real-world technological solutions.
The workshop’s highlight was the hands-on session where participants directly applied their knowledge to create simple applications integrating LLM models. Dr. Adi demonstrated the process of deploying applications to repositories (repo) and running them efficiently. Through step-by-step demonstrations, students gained industry-relevant technical skills. This interactive session not only enriched theoretical understanding but also provided direct experience in developing data-driven solutions that could become part of their research portfolios.
This two-day workshop holistically equipped students with core competencies to become proficient Data Scientists and Data Analysts. With a deep understanding of the solution development cycle—from data preparation to application implementation—student research is expected to become more comprehensive and impactful. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Computer Science and Design at UNSURYA affirms its role as a platform for developing digital talent who not only master theory but can also produce technological innovations addressing the challenges of the digital transformation era.
