Official Visit to Radio Sonora Opens Opportunities for Collaboration with Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (Unsurya)

On 6 March 2024, the team from the Faculty of Computer Science and Design (FIKD) at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (Unsurya) conducted a highly productive official visit to Radio Sonora-a promising first step toward building a strong collaboration between the two entities.
The visit aimed to explore mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities between Radio Sonora and Unsurya. Among the key initiatives discussed were:

  1. Intership Opportunities: Unsurya aims to offer its students intership placements to gain practical experience in a real-world radio environment.
  2. Guest Lectures: Radio Sonora expressed willingness to provide guest lecturers who would deliver lecturers or seminars at Universitas Suryadarma, offering students valuable insights and firsthand experience.
  3. Sonora Academy: One of the proposed initiatives was the opening of classes under Sonora Academy, where students can acquire skills needed to become radio broadcasters, thereby contributing meaningfully to the broadcasting industry.

During the visit, the FIKD team-represented by Dean Dr. Yohannes Dewanto and Muryan Awaludin, S.Kom., M.Kom., Head of the Information System and Information Management programs-met with Ms. Viliny Lesmana, also know as Vivi, and her team, who represented Radio Sonora. They provided an in-depth explanation of the radio studio’s operations and production processes. The team was also given the rare opportunity to observe live broadcasting from behind the scenes.

Both parties agreed that the potential collaboration holds great promise and will bring significant benefits to both institutions, as well as to the students community and Radio Sonora’s listeners.

This visit has opened the door to a meaningful partnership between Universitas Suryadarma and Radio Sonora-one that is expected to drive positive developments in education and the broadcasting industry. We look forward to implementing these ideas soon and strengthening this mutually beneficial partnership.
