On the first day of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) for Community Service, the Informatics Student Association (HIMI) carried out a series of social service activities aimed at making a positive contribution to the local community. The event was successfully held at the Sapa Learning House Foundation in Cakung, East Jakarta, on Friday, 9 February 2024.
According to the planned agenda, HIMI kicked off the first day of the PKM with educational sessions for the children at the foundation. The students provided valuable lessons in various subjects including basic arithmetic, introductory English, and elementary Arabic.
During the basic arithmetic session, children were introduced to numbers and engaged in interactive activities designed to strengthen their understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts. In the English session, they learned basic vocabulary and everyday phrases through fun games and songs. Meanwhile, the Arabic session introduced them to Arabic letters and simple vocabulary related to daily life.
The HIMI Chairperson stated, “We are very happy to see the enthusiasm of the children in participating in these learning activities. We hope that through these lessons, they can enhance their knowledge and skills, as well as broaden their horizons about the world around them”.
The active participation of HIMI members, supported by a spirit of teamwork and social awareness, created a warm and joyful atmosphere among the participants. The success of the first day reflects HIMI’s commitment to creating a positive impact on society through real and sustainable efforts.
