PKM of the Information Systems and Informatics Management Program: “Learning Canva Application via Android and Implementing Graphic Design in Digital Printing at Nurul Mutu’allamin Islamic Boarding School, Depok”

 

In an ongoing effort to improve the quality of education in the digital era, the Information System and Informatics Management Study Program has conducted a Student Creativity Program (PKM) with a primary focus on the application of information technology. This PKM aims to support the creativity and digital innovation of student (santri) at Nurul Muta’allimin Islamic Boarding School in Depok.

Learning Canva Application via Android 

One proactive step taken bybthe program was introducing IT learning through the Canva application. University students were actively involved in teaching creative design using Canva on Android devices. Through this approach , students were expected to learn graphic design skills in a more accessible and interactive way.

Implementing Graphic Design in Digital Printing 

This PKM went beyond theory by involving practical steps through the application of students’ graphic design work in the production of items such as keychains and bags. In this way, the students’ creative outputs were not just visual concepts, but tangible products that could be used in everyday life, supporting the sustainability of their creativity.

Fostering Digital Creativity and Innovation among Santri

The main objective of this PKM was to enhance digital creativity and innovation among students at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Muta’allimin. By integrating IT learning and applying graphic design in digital printing, students were encouraged to develop their creative abilities while also gaining a deeper understanding of modern information technology concepts and applications.

Full Support from the Boarding School 

The management of Nurul Muta’allimin Islamic Boarding School expressed full support for this initiative by the Information Systems and Informatics Management Program. They believe that introducing IT and graphic design skills can add significant value to students’ education, better preparing them to face challenges in the digital age.

Looking Ahead

Through this PKM, the Information Systems and Informatics Management Program hopes to help cultivate a generation of students who not only possess strong religious knowledge but are also capable of competing in the realm of technological advancement. This initiative is expected to serve as an important stepping stone toward broader implementation of IT education across Islamic education institutions in Indonesia.
