Vocational High School (SMK) play a crucial role in equipping students with practical skills that can be directly applied in the workforce. One vital aspect that final-year students must master in the ability to create a strong and compelling Curriculum Vitae (CV). In response to this need, the Student Creativity Program (PKM) serves as an ideal initiative to provide CV writing training for final-year students at vocational schools. In today’s increasingly competitive job market, a standout CV is a key factor in distinguishing oneself from other applications. Although SMK students receive extensive technical training in their respective fields, CV writing skills are often overlooked.
A PKM initiative led by lecturers from the Information System Departement at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma was held at SMK Pembangunan Jaya YAKAPI with the theme “CV Writing Training for Final-Year Students of SMK”. The program began by raising awareness among students about the importance of having a well-structured CV as a tool for self-presentation and career advancement. During the training session, the lecturers-serving as the speaker-delivered material in a simple and relatable manner tailored to the needs and characteristics of vocational school students. The session included a step-by-step guide to writing an effective CV. The training was conducted interactively, involving discussions, Q&A sessions, and case studies.
Through this PKM initiative, lecturers from Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma actively contributed to community development, particularly by equipping SMK students with job market-relevant skills. The CV writing training is expected to help students enter the workforce with greater confidence and preparedness. Similar programs in the future are expected to continue enhancing the quality of human resources in Indonesia.
